The good sized chubby old cuts are eye clean, bright and full of fire with slight characterful inclusions to the central stone visible under magnification; the shape and proportions of the whole ring are PERFECT.
 
I've just realised what is it that makes this syle of ring stand out to me and it's when the star points are quite short, when they don't stray too far away from the diamonds. A small detail but one that I really look out for.
