A beautiful late 1800s sapphire and diamond chunky gem set ring.
 
Th central sapphire is vibrant and lively and set almost flush, into the 14 carat band. Estimated at 0.26ct in weight, the natural stone has minor surface wear to the facets, which we expect to see with a piece of this age. 
 
The royal blue sapphire is sandwiched between two small and fiery old cut diamonds, each approximately 0.11ct in weight. The diamonds are beautiful clean stones with minor inclusions that are only visible under magnification.
 
I believe the piece to be of European origin and there is a Dutch import mark present. Sometimes we're not able to pinpoint excatly where or when a piece was made, which can be frustrating but also fascinating!
 
A solid, weighty piece that screams quality.
