A superb old cushion cut secured in a belcher setting sat between a split shoulder band.
It works PERFECTLY. All of my aesthetic boxes have been ticked with this piece.
The half carat diamond is absolutely full of fire and character and it has a big juicy open culet which I love to see. The claws are tight and secure and gives the illusion of the stone floating above the scalloped belcher. The split shoulders compliment the stone by adding some negative space ensuring that the setting isn't overpowered with gold.
There are remnants of engraving to the edges of the shoulders and the inside of the band was originally engraved with a name and date but it's impossible to make out what this was as it's worn over time and wear.
This is going to make a MEGA pinky ring for her Cinderella.
