My heart skipped a beat when I spotted this ring in a glass cabinet amongst a tray of vintage rings. Even when nestled deep between the cushions of a busy ring pad, she sat proudly, gleaming, waiting patiently to be spotted, to be adored, and adore her I do.
For me, this ring is exceptional and I have priced her accordingly. I have never seen one like her before and I doubt I will again.
The balance between bold and romantic must not be overlooked. A Victorian ring with a big old puffy heart to the centre, soft, smooth and round crafted in rich, buttery 18ct gold. The band is ever so slightly knife edged all the way round, this complements the star of the show perfectly.
The inside of the band is inscribed with 'HEF 1st June 1871' We have clear crisp hallmarks for 18ct gold and the makers mark for Arthur Carter 1891-1895. Who was gifted this piece and what were they celebrating? How did they fee when they received it? I'm overcome with emotion at the thought...
An heirloom piece to be treasured, I cannot wait to see who is going to continue its journey.
The size of the piece is UK J.75 / US 5/5.5 on the mandrel. The fit is more like a UK H / US 3.75 due to the underside of the heart and is not suitable for resize.
