Is the chain heavy? Yes. The total weight is 31.8 grams so you will definitely feel its presence on your neck. It's super comfortable in wear and can be worn all day, every day.
 
How long is it? The length of the chain is 15.5" dog clip to dog clip and suits a small neck. For reference, my neck measures 12.5" and it fits me perfectly with plenty of room.
