We've got whopping 9.6mm wide links, they're semi hollow but don't be put off by this, if they were completely solid, the piece would be double the weight and therefore double the price.

The padlock and one jump ring are stamped for CBD (Charles Deakin & Bro) which is always lovely to see because it means that the whole piece is complete and original; nothing has been replaced over time. For this reason, I would prefer not to remove the padlock unless you're hell bent on replacing it with a dog clip, in which case please send me a message before you hit buy.
