A superb, short length, heavy, mixed link Victorian watch chain with double dog clips and fixed tbar.
Solid, twisted long links are evenly spaced between chubby knotted links with every one crisply stamped for 9ct gold.
The tbar is fixed to the centre of the chain so that you can wear it to the front or to the back without the nuisance of it sliding around.
If you're wondering about the tone of the gold it's on the rosy side in artificial light and yellow in natural light, that true two tone that you find with old 9 carat gold.
The tbar and dog clips are all stamped with the makers mark JG&S (John Grinsell and Sons 1871-1905) and I believe this to be an all original piece.
This is your perfect statement antique chain with an unusual combination of links that will be the star of the show wehether worn alone or as part of a stack.
