I've had to scroll back through all of the rings I've ever stocked to try and find another 22 carat diamond signet ring and there isn't one, I've not found another ring like this in years of running this business, looking though jewellery week in - week, out for six years.
Simply put, this is one of my best ring finds to date. Expertly crafted in 22 carat gold, the round 11mm x 11mm face is studded with a chunky (4mmx3mm) old cushion cut diamond, sitting proud of its setting with high table and open culet and surrounded by 6 rose cut diamonds to make a 6 point star setting.
There is some lightly hand engraved floral/leaf work to the shoulders that has worn beautifully with age.
The whole piece just feels really bloody special. It's bold but it's whimsical, understated but outstanding. The perfect piece for a true appreciator of antique craftsmanship.
There are clear marks for London and 22 carat gold but the date stamp is illegible. I'd hazard an educated guess of around 1880-1900. The whole piece screams late 19th century to me but one especially Victorian feature is the way the star is built up in sculpted gold rather than the flatter, Edwardian milgrain/platinum style that became popular after around 1905.
A true honour to be the temporary caretaker of this stunning piece

All of my pieces are at the very least pre-owned and most of them are vintage or antique. This item is not brand new and as such, will not look brand new. Please expect signs of wear to include kinks in links, surface wear to gold, scuffs to stones and accept this as part and parcel of buying second hand jewellery. I will be as clear as I can with item descriptions and condition statements and aim to make sure you are aware of any potential defects before you buy. Please study the photos carefully as they form part of the condition statement.
